Another way to peel them is peel a boiled egg with a spoon. Hold the boiled egg in the palm of one hand while tapping the shell gently with the back of a spoon in the other hand. Then insert the tip of the spoon bottom side up into the end of the egg that has the air pocket. The shell just peels off as you pry it with the spoon. The hollow part of the spoon just fits perfectly over the shape of the egg. Havent tried the soda (use salt all the time) but will try it.
