Another week has passed! The rest of last week and the weekend - TopicsExpress

Another week has passed! The rest of last week and the weekend went well for Jace. Our weekend was fairly busy and he went every where with us. This has been one of the best weeks in a long time with no vomiting, no diarrhea and Jace in such a good mood. Jace has been on Accutane for a week with one more to go. He now swallows his pills! No more cutting, mixing or syringing. We are all pretty proud of him and still like to stare at him each time. Add it to the list of things he does for us to make this crazy cancer life easier. His appetite continues to be huge with food constantly within arms reach. Hes lost a little more fluid, but still looks better than he has in a long time. We wish there was a way to have his little body absorb more. He should be packing on the pounds. Tonight he was in good spirits when I got home from work, but his mood changed quickly. He had a couple meltdowns before supper which hasnt happened for a while and there was no reasoning with him. We thought maybe he wasnt feeling good? He wanted to eat which was great. At the end, he said he was going to puke. He didnt look good, but never vomited. He wanted to rock and then wanted to lay on the couch. He went from playing with the kids to laying on the couch watching TV. Again, he felt sick with nothing. Finally, he did vomit. Jeremy and I were sitting on each side of him. He halfway holds his little bucket. Another thing a 2 yr old shouldnt have to do or know what to do with. He didnt act any better...no fever, just tired. By the time we did his line maintenance it was time for bed and he was perfectly fine with that. I pray this is random and not the start of something and tomorrow hes good to go. I cant believe today is the last day of September and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Though the month is over the awareness is never over in our eyes. There are kids newly diagnosed (Rykers Ride..another neuroblastoma family) and others fighting relapses all over the place. Treatment continues to be scary for many families who are running out of options to save their child. Tomorrow night, Jace has been asked to be a honorary captain on the Midland University volleyball team and will be joining the team on the bench. We are excited to be a part of this cancer awareness event. Varsity game starts at 7:30p. Thank you for the continued concern, thoughts and prayers. In our minds this is what has pushed us through 12 months of treatment. We cant wait to cross the finish line in December with our little hero!
