Achievements of Gujarat Govt under Modi ji * Roti-Kapda aur Makaan (Basic needs) : ◾Gujarat has one of the best rural road networks in India, and 98.7% of villages are connected by pukka roads. ◾Almost 100% of Gujarat’s 18,000 villages have electricity connection without power-cut !! ◾In 2007, Malnourished children in gujarat were 70.69 % (highest in country) , but by 2011, the number came down to 38.77 % ( most improved state in country ) ◾Per capita income increased from INR 25321 (in 2004-2005) to INR 89668(in 2012-2013) * Pure Innovation : ◾India’s first 1 MW Canal-top Solar Power Project on the Canal of the Sardar Sarovar Project (Eliminating the need for separate land for solar plants !!!) ◾Under scheme called Green Kisan Credit Card, govt convinced banks to consider the monetized value of teak trees owned by the tribal farmers and give them loans against the mortgage of these trees. ( first ever in world to have tree as a guarantee ) ◾The region of Kutch in Gujarat was synonym to drought , this region now boasts 32% annual growth , second to Surat, the richest city there. * Technological advancement : ◾Gujarat has largest OFC (optical fiber connection) network of more than 50,000 km. There are more than 900,000 internet users and all villages are connected with broadband internet. ◾The only state in India which has the infrastructure to provide E-services through IT to 13685 Gram Panchayats which are connected through Gujarat State Wide Area Network (GSWAN). ◾Gujarat is set to become the first state in the country to have a complete integrated police ERP (enterprise resource planning, a software integrating all aspects of an operation). * Business : ◾Gujarat accounts for 15.14% (USD 114.52 bn) of the total investments in India; Highest amongst all States in India. ◾Before Narendra Modi became CM, the state’s average growth in GDP was 2.8%. Under him, between 2002-03 and 2011-12, it turned out to be 10.3%. ◾Gujarat tourism, attracting 1.65 crore visitors annually had numbers ranging to 20 lakh during years 2001-02 * Performance and Recognition : ◾He state registered 12.8% agriculture growth in the last five years against the national average of 2%. (consistent average of above 10% over a decade) ◾In 2004-05, 33% of Gujarats population were under below poverty line , in 2011-12 it dropped to 15% ( sharpest improvement in country ) ◾Gujarat was awarded the prestigious UN Sasakawa award for outstanding work in the field of disaster management and risk reduction (no other Indian state got it ever ) --- Thats my answer to him
