Answering some questions from the last round of posting: Q: When does the show air? A: Late October. Which is coming on us soon! Well have the for-real dates coming VERY SOON now. Q: Who plays Myrnin? A: We have a full list of the cast up on the website, here: morganvilletheseries/ (The actors name is Chase Jeffery, and hes amazing, btw) Q: You said before that the script was a little different to the books and in the trailer, it looked like what happened there was not involved in the book. So did you change quite a lot of the story line? Or did you alter some bits just to make it fit into a time slot? A: Great question! And the answer is that I decided to rewrite it completely, because with only a maximum of about an hour of screen time to work with, you really have to pick only the most important pieces of the story. We have to introduce characters very quickly, and make it easily understandable to people who havent read the books ... plus make it true to the spirit of the story. Theres no way to accurately reproduce extensive amount of dialogue for something like this format, so I boiled it down to what I hope is the real meat of the story, the characters and the interactions. If youre looking for line-by-line transcription, though, you wont get that. Not in this version (or, probably, in any version for the screen, because that just really doesnt work). Having said that, though, I feel pretty good about the script! Q: I dont get the casting for Oliver .... Nothing even close to how he is in the books .... A: Well, I based the character off of Oliver Cromwell, if Cromwell took on a older hippie disguise. So I actually think Mr. Picardo is pretty darn close to my mental image ... Q: Is there some where we can buy myrnins slippers!?! I would love love love a pair! A: Yep. Were going to have links up soon on the website. Q: Who was your hardest character to fit with an actor? P.S Morganville is awesome !!!! A: Thanks! Hmmm, good question, but honestly I dont think it was super difficult, other than the fact that its hard to turn people down who are really also good. Maybe Michael? Ben Easter was our last casting choice, I think, just because we really wanted him to be just right. Q: I know the girl who plays Claire is a good bit older then 16, and doesnt really look that young either, so I was just wondering what was the general age of the people you were looking at for her? And are you aging Claire up at all for in the series? A: Everybody will be a little older than the books, for very practical reasons ... for a small production, having actors under 18 is super difficult, requiring shorter hours for them, additional staff, etc. We didnt hire anyone under 18. Its much easier in feature film or productions where youve got a much larger budget, and more time to film. Q: A little tiny question: What do you think on Lindsay and Jordan relationship? A: I think they really have a lot of chemistry. You can see it even in still pictures! Q: Is it on yet? A: VERY SOON. Major announcement coming!! Thanks so much, guys. Ill try to post again soon! PS - Remember, if youre in London, were at MCM London Comic-Con October 24-26, with Morganville panels on Saturday and Sunday! Well also be signing stuff! I will be staying on for a short book tour after, and will announce those dates soon.
