Anthony was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2000 at the age of 10. His peditrician introduced us to JDRF and Anthony was immeidately drawn to the organization. The next year we agreed to volunteer at the walk. Anthony, Grandma Joan and Aunt D. helped at registration, I think. I, regretfully, volunteered to help in the money room which was down in a basement away from all of the fun. The three of them told me what I missed and it was then that we started to talk about forming a family team for the next year. First year out in 2002, the team was 81 members strong and raised over $20,000. As I look at this team picture I see people who have been with us each and every year and still are. Unfortunately, as we all know, Anthony is not physically but I believe that he is in spirit. Its ironic that this years walk is on October 5 the same date as Anthonys first walk. Wont you please join me in helping to keep Anthonys dream alive? He would expect for me to make the goal of $24,000 as he always did. No pressure.
