Anti-aircraft gunfire and explosions were heard in the town of Ajdabiya on March 22 as Libyan troops clashed with rebels occupying several of the countrys oil ports, Reuters reported. Tripoli gave the leader of the rebels, Ibrahim Jathran, a two-week deadline on March 12 to end the blockade of the ports or face a military assault. Libyan oil production and exports have fluctuated wildly as the breakdown in central authority and domestic stability continues. #stratfor
