Antidepressants during pregnancy do not increase heart - TopicsExpress

Antidepressants during pregnancy do not increase heart malformations in babies whose moms used according to the latest study. Approximately 8 to 13% of women who take antidepressants while expecting ( seems rather high ! ) such as Paxil, the finding was no evidence to support a substantial increased risk of cardiac malformation overall. This is reassuring but this is 1 factor in a whole range of potential risks. There are potential risks of not treating someone who is severely depressed and needs to be on the drug while pregnant. So these concerns should be discussed as soon as you become pregnant.
