Antique Steam Engine Demonstration Jarrell Plantation Historic Site in Juliette, Ga. Tomorrow at 2 p.m. Watch one of the few remaining Talbot stationary steam engines in action and see if you can make the whistle blow. A sawmill, shingle mill, cotton gin and grist mill are also on view. Nestled in the red clay hills of middle Georgia, this cotton plantation was owned by a single family for more than 140 years. It survived Gen. Sherman’s “March to the Sea,” typhoid fever, the cotton boll weevil, the advent of steam power and a transition from farming to forestry. Today, visitors can tour many original farm buildings and houses. Admission is $4 to $6.50 478-986-5172 gastateparks.org/JarrellPlantation
