Any history buffs want to hammer this? The basic thesis is that the decline of the Classical World is directly due to the early period of Islamic Jihad. What bothers me is that the narratives of the extraordinary expansion of Islam and the apparently adjacent and concurrent collapse of the Classical World (yes it was weak but it still existed in the early 7th C) are never even part of the same narrative. We dont want to know about the Dark Ages. Why? Anyway, its about 45 minutes but I would be very interested in any informed feedback.
