Anya Michaelsen, a student at Lake Braddock Secondary School, is one of 40 finalists in the 2015 Intel Science Talent Search. Michaelsen’s project is Kinematic Determinants of Scoring Success in the Fencing Flick: Logistic and Linear Multiple Regression Analysis. As a finalist, Michaelsen is invited to Washington, D.C., March 5-11 to participate in final judging, display her work to the public, meet with notable scientists, and compete for awards, including the three top awards of $150,000 each. The Intel Science Talent Search is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious pre-college science and math competition, and is a program of Society for Science and the Public.
