Anyone care to share how they feel about the proposed constitutional amendments and the party elections? Personally, I voted against the 3 amendments proposed by the Legislature, but for the booze effort and the slow effort to raise the minimum Arkie wage. It will be several years before the rate increases above the fed rate.. now its below the fed rate. Also, while I dislike the jobs done by Obama, Nancy P and the national Demos, I voted for the Demos for the most part because you only get good compromise legislation in this state if you have both parties having strong representation in the statehouse. Huckabees Arkids B and the private option approved by Beebes Dismang and House Speaker Carter of Cabot both occurred because the parties worked together. The only change, which the feds probably wouldnt allow, would be requiring higher co-pays and co-insurances for services -- with the provision that parents can charge those charges against their income tax refunds -- and changing the income tax system to prevent people from getting tax refunds greater than what they paid into the system in taxes. Some people want to get of the earned income tax credit for people on welfare services --- they consider it recouping taxpayers funds.
