Anyone complaining about adhering to canonical accuracy is barking up the wrong tree: Marvel takes liberties with source material like Colbert takes jabs at wealthy, religious conservatives, so this is hardly straying from the norm. It does bother me though, that a genderswap of a male character has so many people squeeing their pants, if only because it reinforces the idea that standalone female characters (Pixie, Ms. Marvel 2014) arent worth a studios time when they can just give a preexisting male brand identity tits and long hair and call it a day.
