Anyone considering moving to Packard Lofts in Newark, New Jersey - TopicsExpress

Anyone considering moving to Packard Lofts in Newark, New Jersey should consider moving elsewhere. This Facebook page, Twitter and MySpace page have been created by former and current tenants to deal with all the lies, distortion of facts by Dubrow Management, Mark Bunimovich and Tiffany Coleman. This building is plagued with construction problems and shoddy workmanship and to this date as attested by current tenants, the problems still persist. Additionally, tenants have overheard very RACIST comment made by management and their staff of questionable repair people about the bulk of the minority tenants. Don’t be fooled by the fact of Tiffany Coleman being black, she’s in the middle of these Dubrow RACIST people and the maintenance people. There is an action being considered by former and current tenants to bring about a full Class Action Law suit against Dubrow Management, as well as filing with the Attorney General of New Jersey. Here are some of the emails sent to us by former and current tenants: 1. “When we moved in, Tiffany Coleman told us there was parking and storage. We later learned there was no parking to the building and although there was parking in the area, it was by an independent company and paid for separately. The so-called storage facility in the basement never existed.” 2. “When my family moved in during the winter, our apartment had no heat or hot water and had many electrical problems. If it weren’t for a tenant helping us with extra blankets and a heater, my young children could have gotten sick.” The workman repair staffs were a bunch of foreigners who also treated us badly.” 3. “I was promised parking and storage by Tiffany Coleman only to learn there was none. I had to use a community parking lot almost a block away, in back of the building. Considering this a high crime riddled area it was frightening to me as a woman to walk through the street late at night just to get into my building.” 4. “I sought relief from Mark Bunimovich about tenant noise and parties all during late hours. Considering my wife was pregnant the ordeal was very stressful. Mr. Bunimovich did nothing, nor did he do much of anything to solve many of our apartment’s problems. We would schedule over and over again to no avail. 5. “We were stranded on the elevator on New Year’s Eve and had to be rescued by the Fire Department. There were always many problems with this elevator. We later learned it was a second hand elevator taken from another building and rehabbed and placed in our building. 6. “The Laundry Room Washing Machines don’t achieve a sustaining temperature in the High heat cycle, therefore are unsanitary. We found it better to go to a laundry “. 7. “No apartment has its own unique key code for the entry front door system or building key card. Many tenants give out the same common key code to their visitors. This makes it unsafe for tenants as these people wander through the building” . 8. “We’ve constantly emailed and called Tiffany Coleman about the rodents and ventilation system problems and there’s been nothing done. We had to hire an outside exterminator.” 9. “Whenever I requested to speak to David Dubrow about the problems we were having with Kim and his vulgar and abusive manner, I was told that Mr. Dubrow was very ill or out of the country. I later learned that Kim was really the manager of the Rivera Hotel and was not a Dubrow employee. He has keys and access to our apartment. 10. “I moved into the building during the late summer-fall. I was having ventilation system problems and they were never properly fixed. I complained and complained. However, when the weather turned cold, I discover I had no heat. When I called to complain, this Kim person came unannounced with no warning and woke me up. I’m in the medical profession on night call. I later learned from three other tenants on my floor that they didn’t have heat or hot water as well.” 11. “I was pregnant and was going back and forth to the hospital because I was almost due. Without advanced notice, they tore apart the front entrance sidewalk, to the building and closed it off. I was being rushed to the hospital but we couldn’t get out. If it weren’t for neighbors carrying me down the back stairwell to the street, I might have miscarried. I could have never walked down that steep flight of stairs. Three weeks later I just had my baby and was home convalescing. At around 2:00AM and during a very cold winter night, the Fire Alarm system went off and my husband and I dressed our baby as warm as possible and went out into the street. The alarm system had been set off and although there were suspicions nothing was done. The Fire Department came, but did not shout off the alarms because there was no fire. Good neighbors place me and our new born in their car with heat. Everyone tried to reach Dubrow Management but all we got was a recording. If it weren’t for a neighbor and the police, we would have never gotten the fire alarm system off.” 12. “This is a terrible building, we aren’t waiting for our lease to end – we’re leaving” 13. “We were told by Tiffany Coleman that there was restrictions about certain breeds of dogs and that Pitbulls were no allowed. After we moved in, they allowed very aggressive Pit Bulls, they also allowed Doberman Pinchers. I was almost bitten by one of the Pit Bulls while on the elevator. When I complained to Tiffany Coleman, nothing was done.” 14. All we receive is mail and email apologizing for an inconvenience or mistake that Dubrow Management knows full well they intend to do without regards to the tenants.” 15. "Plain and simple, this building is whack"
