Anyone else fed up with Crystal Palace being Boriss punch bag? Im beginning to think Dave Hill may have a point. I thought the GLA might be the answer to overcoming problems being on the edge of 5 councils. Instead Boris seems to want his officers to heedlessly pursue a Grand Project which seems to make less and less sense. He is pushing through the redevelopment of Earls Court against the wishes of local residents only to push forward plans to build an exhibition-led complex in Crystal Palace. Boris has played hokey kokey with the Tram for Crystal Palace even though he has schemed behind everyones backs to bring in a Chinese property developer in to build a development bigger than Heathrow Terminal One in our park. And he is seemingly set on denying us an Olympic Legacy and distorting aspects of the agreed Master plan of Crystal Palace Park to suit the whims of the said same property tycoon. A developer who understandably seems to think hes on a good thing with Boris and wants even more than the top of our park if machinations over the NSC are to be believed. Then there are the decommissioned GLA pollution monitoring stations and surprise surprise independent studies have revealed harmful concentrations of pollutants around traffic pinch points of Crystal Palace which are only going to get worse with said same development which seemingly is not going to be served by enhanced public transport provision. Not to mention the controlled Parking Zones which are going to start appearing in Crystal Palace. Maybe its time to take the gloves off Crystal Palace?
