Anyone else wondering about the changes to Walmart? My husband was just in, and he had a long talk with an employee. Turns out, the automotive section is closed permanently. They are also decreasing the size of every store department, to make room for the grocery section. Apparently they were refused a building permit, and instead of forgoing the expansion, they will drop departments, and department sizes (ie/ hardware dropping from 11 aisles to 5), to make room for the produce and meat section. The old automotive section is being turned into a new shipping/receiving area. So, when Walmart came in, they drove out other smaller, or specialty, businesses, and now that weve lost those businesses, Walmart is cutting back on the departments weve come to rely on. What a piss off.
