Anyone heard of a guitar player by the name of Jeff Beck? Probably - TopicsExpress

Anyone heard of a guitar player by the name of Jeff Beck? Probably not. He happens to be one of the most gifted axe shredders on the planet and was voted #5 in a survey of the top 100 worlds greatest guitarists by Rolling Stone magazine recently. He first played in a group called The Yardbirds in 1963 (yeah, Jeff is 70 now!) that launched the careers of two guitarists you MAY have heard of, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page. Because almost all of his recordings are instrumental and a lot of his stuff was too far ahead of its time, he never achieved the notoriety of Clapton and Page, but Clapton has been quoted as saying he wished he could do with a guitar what Jeff does. Anyways, if you want a chance to see this genius, he happens to be playing in West Palm on May 8th. And hes bring along two old friends to back him up - Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and 23 year old bass guitar prodigy Tal Wilkenfeld. Friends, if you miss this show I feel sorry for you! Heres a sample of Jeff playing with Billy and Tall recently. Hope to see you in West Palm on the 8th!
