Anyone here know the story of Journey to the West? In the new Stephen Chow movie, the monk sets off on a trip with a monkey, a pig and a fish. From what i can tell, in the book he had a monkey, a pig and friar sand the sand demon. Also, in the film he first recruits fish from a river where he was eating people (especially villagers who punish those who help rescue drowning children), then pig from a restaurant where he was cooking people (especially women who lust after handsome men) and finally monkey from a hole in the ground where Buddha stuck him for being kind of a jerk. There were also four other demon hunters - infinite ring, mighty foot, prince important and some kung fu guy with great special effects. The monk is a weakling who tries to capture demons using a book of nursery rhymes. Not sure how this compares to the book. If anyones interested, i thought it was a great movie.
