Anyone out there with HYPOGLYCEMIA? I see this all the time, and Dr Kharrazian taught us that this is one of those deal breakers that, like chronic infections and anemias, you MUST address and correct or it will be very hard to make progress with the thyroid. However, I find that many patients have a very hard time complying with the demands of eating every 2 to 3 hours. How many of you have trouble with that? And when you add in how many have a leaky gut, which when we work on that they have to eliminated nuts for a while, people start to get really frustrated at what they can eat to stabilize blood glucose. For patients who are having a hard time with the frequent snacking, we will often recommend a KETOGENIC diet like the one Dr Perlmutter, author of Grain Brain, describes in detail on his page here : drperlmutter/tag/ketogenic-diet/ I highly recommend before you start this that you get the help of a qualified practitioner, as many people make mistakes when they implement this. However, when done properly, it can be very good for stabilizing blood glucose and improving brain function. As you notice from the link, he talks about how this can help even with serious conditions like ALS, which you have probably been hearing about from all the ice bucket challenges. He outlines some methods that people can do NOW to help with conditions even as serious as ALS (which some studies have also linked to gluten reactions). Have any of you tried this approach, and what have you results been? Feel free to ask questions in the comments section or inbox me
