Anyone planning a trip to Europe should really consider going with Iceland Air. They allow for a day or two to layover in Reykeblahblah to see all sorts of cool stuff like ice, snowy looking mountains, and ice/rain mix. Im betting thats all the time you really need to see the highlights of that place. I wish all airlines allowed for extended layovers. How many of us wish we could see Dallas/Ft Worth but our layover is only 3 hours in the most boring airport in the world? I personally could care less about it but maybe someone would. I wouldnt mind getting a decent sized layover in Chicago. Enough time to eat a Giordanos pizza and hit up Addison St to buy a Cubs hat that is more sentimental to me just because it was purchased across the street from Wrigley. That hat could fetch two dollars in our garage sale in 5 years. Atlanta is another hot one Id like a long layover in. How awesome would it be to see all the sights and sounds of the nations most airplaniest city. You could see the Botanical Gardens, maybe the park surrounding the Botanical Gardens, Turner Field to get a hat in the same vein as you did in Chicago, go back to the Botanical Gardens and experience one of the nations greatest rush hours while leaving the Botanical Gardens. I would like to have a long layover in the following places: Amsterdam- Word has it the new airport there is incredible and the general consensus is Amsterdam can be done in a day. Paris- You can take the RER to Gare du Nord in less than 30 min and from there the best subway in the world can take you to plenty to do in minimal time. Barcelona- Never been or had a desire to go but most people say its the best city in Europe. A layover is the only thing that will ever get me there. New York- Weve had 8hr layovers there the past couple years and thanks to the express train to Manhattan from JFK you can do and see a lot. If youre flying into the other airports I dont know what to tell you. Montreal- I dont know why.... just makes me curious. Dayton- Far enough from all the grit and grime of the downtown area yet close enough to ummmmmm I got nothing. Sorry guys. Tried to stay true to our hometown but failed.
