Anyone who hasnt seen video about why exactly religion is a mental disorder should really watch it, it is clear and cut once you spell it out. Especially anyone unsure that religion is actually a mental disorder should watch this. It for sure would be recognized by the DMS if there was not a special clause excusing religion and if it was not such a wide-spread mental illness; these people would be committed and/or heavily medicated for mental illness probably in an insane asylum in any other case. Believing there is literally an invisible man in the room who is able to forgive your sins against others and who will make you live forever if you love him is about as straight-jacket and rubber-room crazy as it gets. I have long thought religion was obviously a special type of retardation at best, it is much like a partial lobotomy and very much like many other illnesses recognized as a mental disorder such as schizophrenia. Then I saw this video that very soundly makes the argument it is in fact a mental disorder, and now fully support the idea that religion is a mental disorder and should be treated as such. Just because a debilitating disorder is wide-spread does not mean its acceptable to intentionally give it to children. Religious indoctrination is child abuse and being silent about child abuse is shameful and especially immoral. Jesus probably wasnt even a real deluded liar, and religion is a mental disorder. These two new and growing cultural realizations will probably finally be the death of religion. If tomorrow we all stopped threatening children with torture to accept the absurdity of the bible religion would almost certainly be gone in a generation or maybe two tops. Would YOU believe someone if they told you a different invisible wizard named Sesuj was going to torture you if you dont love him? Would you suddenly believe in Seduj if many other people around you also believed this, or do you think you would need to be tricked and terrorized as a small child? Religion has invaded our politics and our culture for too long, and has been holding the evolution of the human race back for far too long. An important step in healing from the many damaging ideas found in the bible is taking them off pedestal they unrightfully sit. Religion is just another hypothesis about the world, and it is so absurd and poorly supported that no one with a fully functional brain could possibly believe it. Sadly, children have been damaged and threatened into believing it for so long we as a society take that as normal. Religion is a cruel scam at best and at worst is a nefarious tool of oppression where children are damaged to the point where they can helplessly be farmed like cattle.
