Anyone who knows my hubby Dave knows he is very laid back and easy going and it takes a lot to get him shook up so me being me make it my mission to get him riled up once a year..just so happens I do it every April Fools Day. Last year I woke him up by telling him I went out to start my Jeep before heading to Dialysis but it was missing. I went on and on about how I should start listening to him and take the keys from the jeep in the evening and actually lock it up...and how upset I was because I knew it was at the back door when I went to bed. He jumps up in his long johns flies to the kitchen window throws back the curtain and says Shel its right there where you left it...I turn to Sydney and ask her what todays date is she says,Its April first Momma!! We both look at Dave who is still not fully awake then it hits him! This morning I woke him up and was talking to Sydney when all of a sudden I grab my arm where my access is.. and say OH No somethings bad wrong with my arm I dont feel it throbbing anymore..I must have laid on it during the night shut off the blood flow and now its dead.. Dave jumps up tells Syd we have to hurry mommas in bad shape and we have to figure out what to do next..he throws on jeans ,shirt and is workin on his shoes..then he says, Hon what do you want to do? call your Dr. or just head to the ER... I could hear his voice breaking and I looked up and he was close to tears..Syd had run to the dryer for jeans..I couldnt take it anymore..seeing Dave like that..I called out to Lil Bit and asked her what today is and she said its Tuesday, April first.. then it hit him...I might have taken him too close to the edge today considering my arm didnt work but for an hour last Wed. dialysis had to be stopped and I was sent home. we were told that if this arm dies I would have to get another chest tube but it was very likely that a thigh cath. would be put in because of all the scar tissue from the previous tubes in the chest...Maybe next year Ill have to tone it down a notch or two...Dave saw absolutely no humor in my wit and charm this morning... Love him so much had to tell him my Mommas secret about me I can NOT EVER look anyone dead in the eye and tell a fib...the whole time this was going on I had to turn my back and not let him see my face until I heard the panic and pain in his voice... So my tricks for this great day might be over..HE IS ON TO ME NOW!!
