Anyone whos read Robert Drapers 2012 book, Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives would know that on President Obamas first inauguration night in 2009, 6 pissed off Republicans, along with Frank Luntz, plotted and planned to sabotage not only the new Presidents agenda, but the entire country as well. Crying in their beer, they made 3 decisions: the 1st, take back the House (which they did in 2010,) 2nd, win back the Senate which was accomplished the other night and 3rd, to take back the White House in 2016. The genius of the plan was that it was a hostage situation. Republicans took the legislative process hostage and refused to pass anything. Senate Republicans obstruction legislation big and small all with the goal of building frustration and discontent with government. After the American people had become enraged by “broken Washington,” Republicans promised that Washington could be fixed if they were given control of the Senate. Never did Republicans admit that they were the reason Washington was “broken.” Instead, they blamed the people who were trying to get things done. Republicans blamed Sen. Harry Reid and President Obama. The GOP ran a con on the American people. They created the problem then promised to solve it.The bad news is that the con worked like a charm. On Election Night, Democratic Senate candidates never had a chance. Candidates who ran good campaigns were defeated, and in every state the Republican message was the same, “Elect us and end the gridlock in Washington.” Ever since the 2010 election, the willfully ignorant Republican voters, who never pay attention to anything, bought the con job, hook, line and sinker, playing right into the Republicans hands like they knew they would. When the Republicans renege on their promise to end gridlock (which theyre NOT going to do,) these voters will STILL blame the President, Harry Reid and the Democrats for not getting anything done and like the good little foot soldiers that they are, theyll turn right around and vote these cretins back into office in 2016 because they really believe theyre patriots. Because of their ignorance, they brought this country one step closer to fascism. The only good thing about all of this is that theyre going to suffer for it just as much as the rest of us are who didnt vote for these traitors because we stay informed and know better. The Republicans will treat them just like they do the rest of us poor slobs and they wont be spared. What goes around, comes around and you reap what you sow.
