Anytime I get home and cook myself a choice nourishing meal, I dont take this divine provision for granted. Once upon a time in this city of Lagos, I could not afford to eat a balanced diet. I would go hungry without food for days (not fasting). My meagre income was not steady, primarily effected by persecution from evil men in both the federal and private sector economies. I soaked soured garri in water everyday and complimented it with a few packets of five Naira biscuits to create variety. This meal almost cost me my erstwhile perfect eyesight. The scars are still vivid. I was a good Christian, served God fervently, and was heavily exploited by the local churches. Whenever I had a reason to visit some family household, I would pray prior to that visit, Lord Jesus, touch them to offer me a cooked meal. That could just be the only opportunity to eat a balanced diet that week, or maybe once in two weeks. Nevertheless, I held on to God despite the trials, and afflictions that came from the rulers of the state and false brethren in the churches. Whatever my hand could find to do, I did. The only occasional help I received came from my family members-brothers, sisters, father. Suddenly, after many years, God turned around my captivity. The landed properties are yet to arrive; the car is yet to come; but I am most grateful to God that I can afford to eat anything I wish; drink what I wish; have an apartment of my own; and have clothing over my naked body. I thank God for the wonderful family members who stood by me in my great moments of trials; and for that man who last saw me over 30years ago, but yet sowed a good seed into my ministry. The churches I had faithfully served with all my being and monies in the good old days, left me outside to die in my moments of trials. They attempted many times to nail the cover of the casket over my body whilst I still breathed. IF IT HAD NOT BEING FOR JESUS CHRIST, WHERE WOULD I HAVE BEEN? I AM SO GLAD THAT THE LORD SAVED ME.
