For a view into our world, please visit our website: vancouverfoundation.ca About the Position This is a six month term position, with the possibility of a further extension. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the position provides support to the various web sites including design and content development and works with the IT department. In addition, the incumbent will manage portfolios for various Foundation departments and ancillary groups, including other duties as assigned. The position works with suppliers and contractors such as web developers and designers, writers, printers and media advertising representatives. Main Responsibilities 1. Web project manager/developer • Acts as webmaster for Vancouver Foundation. • Responsible for the oversight and development of Vancouver Foundation’s web properties (i.e. Vancouver Foundation, Youth Philanthropy Council, Downtown Eastside Small Arts Grants, Neighbourhood Small Grants websites, etc.) with shared responsibility for online databases and social media. • Writes, edits, and proofreads site content; coordinates the maintenance and development of master content calendar for all web properties; ensures brand consistency with all Vancouver Foundation web properties. • Maintains site standards with regard to new development; coordinates with vendors and contractors in the development of existing websites. • Monitor, analyze and report on site performance, trends, improvements needed, etc. • Supports the development of online communications strategies. 2. Marketing/Communications project management • Creates and executes project work plans; develops and/or oversees production of materials and collateral related to the project. • Supports the development of Vancouver Foundation’s brand strategies and marketing plans; aids in developing brand identity. • Manage existing suppliers/contractors. 3. Development of communications materials • Writes a variety of communications materials, as required. • Assists in proofreading and copy editing material. • Researches and gathers information for use in materials production and presentations. • Assists in the production of Vancouver Foundation magazine as required. • Develops and updates Powerpoint presentations for the Foundation. • Uses Adobe Creative Suite to layout materials such as print ads, fact sheets, etc. About You Core Competencies • Exceptional organizational and project management skills. • Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of tasks without ongoing direction. • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task under tight timelines. • Strong attention to detail; accuracy and an ability to focus amidst distractions and competing priorities. • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking; demonstrated ability to take initiative and problem solve with minimal supervision. • Continuously seeks methods for improving process, efficiency, and effectiveness. Implements best practices; develops innovative ways to improve processes and creates new opportunities. • Comfortable communicating technical needs with IT, server hosting companies, web developers, etc. • Client-focused; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with both internal and external clients to achieve organizational and departmental goals, including the ability to manage upwards. • Available to work occasional evening and weekend hours when required. Experience and Education • Post-secondary degree or diploma in English, Communications, Marketing or a related field of study. • Previous experience in related fields • Project management and experience in website development. • SEO experience and understanding of best practices. • Knowledge of CMS; experience in building sites in a variety of platforms (Wordpress, Drupal, etc.) an asset. • Good understanding of HTML and CSS to be able to troubleshoot and make changes to websites. • Basic understanding of online marketing tools, i.e. Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Event Brite. • Experience in Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, You Tube, Vimeo, Hootsuite. • Proficiency with business software programs, i.e. Microsoft Office. • Proficiency with design and layout software, i.e. Adobe Creative Suite.
