Apollo 11: "Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed" - TopicsExpress

Apollo 11: "Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed" happens at about 5:00 in this clip. Right after Armstrong says that, Houston says that the astronauts will be given time to relax and have a meal before EVA. They landed in the afternoon. I forgot and was in St. Louis watching a crappy Edgar Allan Poe story made into a movie starring Vincent Price. I missed "the Eagle has landed" part, but that break they took lasted well into the evening and we sat in front of our black and white TVs and waited and waited and waited. Pretty much everyone on the entire planet was riveted when Neil Armstrong stepped out onto the lunar surface. It was a Sunday. By the time they stepped out, it was the 21st according to Greenwich Mean Time. According to Wiki, Buzz Aldrin took communion privately.
