Apologies for only getting around to congratulating the Kilkenny Minors on their fantastic win over Waterford after extra time in the 1st of the Minor Semi Finals. Kilkenny made a bright start with talented full forward Liam Blanchfield popping over some fine points from flowing hurling from Kilkenny an they led 0-10 to 0-6 at half time. Waterford then had a dominant spell after half time and scored a great early goal to drag them right back into the game and it then went point for point until Waterford took the lead with 2 mins left on the clock. Kilkenny then won a 65 that they had to score from that Man Of The match Alan Murphy cooly slotted over to force extra time. Kilkenny started the better In the opening period of extra time with a superb point from Liam Blanchfield and Murphy hit 2 frees to put Kilkenny ahead 0-19 to 1-14. Four minutes into the 2nd period of extra time superb substitute J. Walsh ran through on goal and after his hurl was knocked from his hand booted a fantastic goal to all but finish off Waterford, Kilkenny dominated the remaining minutes adding to their lead and limiting Waterford to a point from a free to run out 9 point winners on a score line of 1-23 to 1-14 (AET) Scorers: A.
