Apparently Im a rarity in that I loved this movie more than I did the original series...not that its perfect. However, one thing Im sold about. Granted that the makeup effects look mostly unfinished, but as soon as I heard the Goblin laugh and as he landed between Spidey and Gwen I couldnt help sliding to the edge of my seat and thinking, This just got real. Something bads about to happen. Sure, Willem Dafoes a decent actor, but NOT FOR ONE SECOND I found him the least bit threatening, especially since his (extremely expressive) face was unfortunately obscured by the awful mask and his hammy performance completely killed it for me. For me, THIS was the goblin I grew up with. they just changed his civilian alias for reasons known only to them.
