Apparently another mainstream media opportunity to take a derogatory swipe at veganism. Emmerdale this time – taking the opportunity to substantiate the general perception of a plant based diet as being totally insufficient in nutrients and so ‘toxic’ it will make you ill and too weak to function within a few hours of adhering to it. Either that or it is some sort of a ridiculous ‘joke’ and only fit for the desperate, middle aged man so desperate to to turn back the hands of time and get in touch with the youth of today, he is willing to try anything to, no matter how ridiculous it is. Certainly not something which can be taken seriously as a viable option for the future of the planet. Who says these stereotypes don’t exist? I don’t personally watch this programme but many, many people do and this is the subliminal message being sent to, and absorbed by them.
