Apparently its Saint Martha s day Today Jim told me today Last year cousin Σταύρος Ιωάννου reminded me ( I am his favourite cousin ) Anyway , I was thinking about mum and the story she told me about why I was called Martha ..... There are 2 stories , the first one , my favourite was, when she first came to Australia she lived and worked in Warick with her uncle Near their shop was a dress factory and mum was often asked to be a model where they would use her as a fitting mannequin because of her perfect figure, well a lady who was very beautiful and sophisticated would often go there and mum was always in awe of her beauty and charm and her name was Martha and mum said if she ever had a little girl she would call her Martha after this lady :) And the other story which is more horiatiko (xoriatiko) is that Giagia Fotini had an Aunty (I think) That was a Hadji and her name was Martha ,,,, I think dad agreed to the name because of her .... Hadji -Martou ..... When ever I was in trouble I was hadji -Martou .... XxxxX There you go So happy names day to all the Marthas out there.......
