Appeal For Your Generous Donations to Complete Masjied-ul-Ameer Inshaa-Allah Ameen The Ruyterwacht Islamic Society was established in 1994 in a poor, white dominant area in Ruyterwacht, with only a handful of Muslims at that time. Salaah and Madrassa were made in people’s rooms, garages and backyards and were moved to different locations in Ruyterwacht. In 2003 the Ruyterwacht Islamic Society bought a house in Ruyterwacht and converted it into a place of worship, Algamdulillaah. Due to the ever-growing number of muslims seeking to make Ruyterwacht their new home, the existing masjied complex proved to be inadequate in size and space. At that point, Ruyterwacht was said to be one of the fastest-growing muslim communities in the broader Cape Town Metropole. After the initial plans were drawn and approved, the foundation of the new masjied was laid in February 2010. This was indeed a very special ceremony as brothers, sisters, families and the youth came out in large numbers to “lay the foundation” as the first phase of Allah’s House.
