Appeal to drivers and pedestrians after Scarborough woman assaulted in road Police in Scarborough are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in St Thomas Street. The incident happened in the middle of the road at around 3pm on Saturday 11 October 2014. Traffic had to stop to avoid the victim and offender and officers believe that due to the time of day, there were a lot of people in the area who could have seen the incident. Officers are appealing to both motorists and people who were in the street to contact them with any information they have about the assault. The woman suffered bruising to her neck during the assault. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Michael Tinsley or email [email protected] If you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Please quote reference number 12140176268 when passing on information about this incident. A 30-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail to allow for further police enquiries. 22 October 2014
