Appearance of Param Brahma When one gets the Mantra from a Guru, then by doing Japa of the Mantra at times given by the Guru, the body of the person, who does the Japa, will be purified. So long as the Pancha-Bhoutik body remains impure, the result of Japa gets destroyed. So long as the mind in Bahir-Mukhi, i.e. turned outwards, it cannot function properly in the field of Sadhana. What happens if the Indriyas become Bahir-Mukhi? The face of a woman may look very handsome, but when she falls ill, her beauty goes. But if one could see her interior, she remains the same as before. Food is of the same type. But if one does Japa at the right time, the tongue and the throat of the worshipper are purified. Then the Namamruta of Sri Bhagawan gradually descends on his heart. The wonderful Leela of Nada Brahma goes on continuously into the Anahat Padma which is in the heart. This Nada is of two types- Vyakta or Avyakta and can be millions of varieties. If the Nada is like any particular known sound, then it is called Vyakta Nada. Thus one may hear the sound of a gong or conch or flute or Mridanga – these are all Anukaran Nada, i.e. Nada which is like some known sound. One can also hear the sound of Guru, Guru, Soham, Soham inside. This is Avyakta Nada. Gradually the feeling that I am the body disappears and Param Brahma appears as Jyoti. ~Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath
