Apple Fitness (Worksop) - LACTATE TESTING is Now Available for ONLY £50 Why Lactate Test? A lactate test is the number 1 way to monitor and improve your running or cycling. It tells you how your body is actually working inside at different running/cycling speeds. This allows us to accurately prescribe training paces so that you get the most from your training. And better training leads to better racing. How does the test work? You will run or cycle for a number intervals and at each interval the intensity will increase. After each stage your heart rate and blood lactate are measured. The results are then used to produce your lactate profile. What do the results tell me? Changes in your blood lactate level tell us what is happening inside your body and allows you to optimise your training speeds for all endurance events. The test results enable us to identify your thresholds and therefore training zones and optimal running speeds. In particular the Anaerobic Threshold is a very reliable indicator of 10km racing fitness while the slower Aerobic Threshold is important the longer endurance races where you are racing for 90 minutes or more. From the results we will suggest what training speeds to be running at to improve your fitness.
