Application Developer 14112013A-IN Ares Staffing – Mississauga, ON Application Developer 14112013A-IN Overview: Work within the Planning & Integration Department - reporting to the SharePoint Collaboration Services Team Leader - the successful candidate will work as part of the SharePoint Collaboration Services Team to implement, maintain, and support a variety of applications such as off the shelf and in-house developed web applications, web-based InfoPath forms, SharePoint sites, including the Corporate intranet portal. Responsibilities: • Integration methods used can vary such as with web services and APIs. • In collaboration with vendors, IT staff, and clients, will perform the following: - determine and document business and technical requirements and write specifications; - develop and configure applications; develop and run reports; analyse, troubleshoot and recommend methods to implement and provide application and system support; - provide time estimates for development activities; prepare test cases and perform QA system testing; - prepare system documentation; - co-ordinate IT resources during implementation; research, learn and inform project team of new technologies required for project. - Must perform development and systems analysis duties in accordance with City Standards and Procedures for application development/implementation. Requirements: • University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline with minimum 5 years application development/implementation and support experience in both web and client server environments. • Proven ability to work in a project team environment. • Demonstrated experience in the development, testing, implementation and support of in-house developed and off the shelf applications. • Demonstrated development experience in web-based application architecture, InfoPath Designer 2010, SharePoint Designer 2010, Visual Studio 2010/12, SharePoint 2010 Object Model, ASP.Net, C#.Net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, using Microsoft SQL Server databases. • Must have strong communication (written and oral), presentation and organizational skills. • Must have solid technical, analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Must have thorough understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC). • Must have experience conducting systems analysis, collecting business requirements, defining functional specifications and developing test cases. • Experience in administration and configuration of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 is an asset. • Commitment to service excellence and total quality is essential.
