Apprentice Motor Vehicle Mechanic Seguin Auto Corp and Service Location: 169 Provenchier Boulevard City/Town: Winnipeg, MB POSITION SUMMARY: The Apprentice Motor Vehicle Mechanic will work under supervision and will be responsible for assisting with diagnosing and repairing all makes and models of automobiles (foreign and domestic) using manual techniques and electronic diagnostic equipment, and offering exceptional customer service to our customers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Discuss work order with supervisors, confirm findings and schedule with supervisor • Assist supervisor to inspect, road test, test and analyze automotive systems to diagnose faults • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine , drive train and tires, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups • Advise supervisors on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair • Maintain tools and equipment ensuring a safe, clean and useable condition • Responsible for providing and maintaining an approved set hand tools • General shop housekeeping, yard maintenance, including disposing of debris and washing of units when required • Completes inspections and reports recording problems, and work performed • Other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Mechanical aptitude, with 1 – 2 years previous experience preferred • Must be physically fit and able to meet conditions of the position • High commitment to his / her own and others safety • Must be self-motivated with good shopkeeping skills • Maintain relations with customers and co-workers through effective communication and interpersonal skills • Preference will be given to Metis, non-Status, or Inuit applicants WE PROVIDE: • MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8:00am - 5:00pm, with alternating weekends off • Excellent working environment and commitment to customer service • $11.00 - $13.00/hour CLOSING DATE: December 1, 2014 APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please submit your resume and cover letter to: Email: [email protected]
