April Fools, we are... its been nearly 26 years now since scientists from NASA, NOAA and other leading research institutions informed the U.S. Senate that the theory of global warming from mans disruption of the carbon cycle had manifested as reality -- and that a move away from the combustion of enormous quantities of fossil fuels was called for. Q: What are we doing about it in 2014? A: Were accessing shale gas, shale oil, tar sands oil, and deepwater offshore oil via ever more environmentally destructive extraction modes. Assessment: policy ignores science.
