April, a rottweiler mix and our family dog of 11 years, has to be given up. My mother got divorced and, per the terms of the divorce, had to sell her home of nearly 25 years. Shes moving in with my grandparents and then to an apartment, neither of which option permits dogs. April is such a sweet, loving dog. Even though she is 11, she plays like a puppy. She still runs around and wags her tail excitedly every time I come home. We are heartbroken and I dont think anyone realizes how dire the situation is; no rescue in Akron that I have spoken to wants to take an 11 year old dog, no matter how wonderful she is.
