Na barkach, a raczej na kłębie Pogroma spoczywał ciężar odpowiedzialności, zważywszy, że ostatnim polskim koniem, który wygrał Czempionat Ogierów w Scottsdale, był w 1976 og. El Paso…Wybór czempionów odbył się przy burzowej pogodzie. Pogrom ukazał się jako jeden z ostatnich, ale jego wejście powitały setki polskich flag łopoczących na wietrze… …Był to niewątpliwie dzień Pogroma, który jednomyślną decyzją sędziów pokonał dotychczasowe Narodowe Czempiony USA z pierwszego i drugiego rzędu. Mało tego, poszedł za ciosem i zdobył także trofeum „Scottsdale Supreme Champion”. ……i w Las Vegas Czempionat ogierów, podobnie jak w Scottsdale, zapowiadał się na prawdziwą „walkę gigantów. Zwycięstwo Pogroma w Scottsdale wzbudziło sensację w całym „arabiarskim” światku. Snuto na głos rozważania, czy ten ogier naprawdę jest aż tak rewelacyjny? Ekipa z Midwest postanowiła udowodnić, że jak najbardziej ” jest” i z tym przekonaniem zgłosili Pogroma do Pucharu Świata Hodowców w Las Vegas. Mniej więcej w tym samym czasie rozeszła się informacja, że do Vegas wybiera się także WH Justice – najszerzej rozpropagowany reproduktor w „arabskim” biznesie. Pogrom, aby zwyciężyć, musi pokazać naprawdę dobry kłus. Paweł Kozikowski stanął więc przed trudnym wyzwaniem, aby utrzymać w kłusie taki wulkan energii, jaki miał na drugim końcu prezenterki WH Justice nie stoczył ostatecznej walki z Pogromem o zwycięstwo, tylko o srebrny medal z młodym, świetnie się zapowiadającym ogierem Baahir El Marwan. Czterech spośród sześciu sędziów oceniających konie w finale przyznało Pogromowi pierwsze miejsce, dzięki czemu łatwo i z dużą przewagą zdobył złoto. There was a huge crowd; it seems that everybody on the showgrounds was there to see if this horse would meet the hype.” Also add the weight of history on Pogrom’s withers: the last horse from Poland to win the Scottsdale Stallion Championship was *EL Paso in 1976. But Pogrom is no ordinary horse. For all the National Champions standing in the first and second row, it was, in the end, Pogrom’s day. A unanimous decision gave the structurally correct and beautiful stallion one of the breed’s most coveted titles. The momentum carried him through to Scottsdale Supreme Champion as well. Poland’s stallion drought at Scottsdale was over. …. and in Las Vegas The stallion championship, like Scottsdale, was shaping up to be an epic battle... Add to that the intensely masculine dark bay Pogrom who rolled over US Champions Eden C, LD Pistal, and OFW Magic Wan in his unanimous in Scottsdale win. This win sent shock waves through the international Arabian community. Was this stallion really of that quality? The Midwest team was determined to prove he was and they set their sites on Breeders World Cup in Vegas for Pogrom…. About the same time, it was announced that WH Justice, one of the most recognized breeding stallions in the industry… By the time the stallion championships rolled around, the excitement was palpable. Two things were made clear during the qualifying rounds, WH Justice was a very formidable foe, and Pogrom needed to display a better trot if he was to have a chance to capture the win. This would present a huge challenge to Kozikowski, as Pogrom’s boundless energy in the ring makes trotting him on the end of the lead very difficult. WH Justice’s battle turned out to be not with Pogrom for the win, but to hold off of the young up and coming super star Baahir El Marwan for the Silver Medal. The beautifully structured Baahir El Marwan is deservedly developing quite a following. In the end, WH Justice was Silver and Baahir El Marwan was Bronze.
