Araura girls wow table tennis world Thu 25 Jul 10 young Aitutaki table tennis players represented the Cook Islands successfully at the recently held New Zealand junior open championship in Auckland. The team faced similarly talented opponents from French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Queensland, Victoria, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Counties Manukau, Manawatu, Nelson, North Harbour, Northland, Otago, Southland, Waikato, Waitemata and Wellington. The Aitutaki girls won the girls under 13 bronze medal by beating North Harbour for the third place honours. The executives of the Aitutaki Table Tennis Association are pleased that the young team, exclusively from Aitutaki, managed to repay in some small way the confidence Air Rarotonga showed by sponsoring the return fares for all the 10 players to Rarotonga and back. Thank you Air Rarotonga. The Aitutaki Table Tennis Association is indeed very proud of their home-based team representing the whole of the Cook Islands.
