"Arctic Warriors, Based on guidance received this past weekend from HQ PACAF, derived from direction issued by Secretary of Defense Hagel on 5 Oct 13, we are welcoming our civilian teammates back to work this week. As a result, virtually all offices closed during the furlough period have re-opened. As we work our return toward more normal operations, I need to remind everyone we still lack authority to spend appropriated funding in many key areas. If this lapse in appropriations continues, critical parts, or supplies, may run out, and there will be limited authority for the Department to purchase more. We will continue to analyze the impacts the continued lapse in appropriations may have on our ability to provide programs and services to our Service members, our Civilians, their families, and our greater JBER community.
