Are Black Christians The New House Negro? Back during slavery, when Black people like me talked to the slaves, they didnt kill em, they sent some old house Negro along behind him to undo what he said. You have to read the history of slavery to understand this. There were two kinds of Negroes. There was that old house Negro and the field Negro. I know slaves were taught to from the Bible and many couldnt read or write, but I know they werent dumb. Why, throughout this entire horrible ordeal, did they maintain in the thought of a merciful God above? A God that was very often the same God their masters believed in. Even afterward, the tradition of Christianity ran (and runs) strong throughout the African American community, despite it being the exact same religion practiced by racist white supremacists who captured their ancestors, put them into slavery, fought to keep them slaves, and then continued to oppress them even to this day. Especially with the masters justifying their use of slavery with direct scripture from the Bible. Why is it that Blacks / Africans/ people of color, believe in a slave religion, when it was those same religions of Islam, and Christianity which helped enslave them? I could better understand an African aka black studying an African religion, or a religion made by blacks in diaspora, but to worship the religion of the same people that enslaved Africans, almost drove the Native Americans to extension, and decimated the entire populations of the Incas, Mayans, and Aztecs, what could possibly motivate a person of color accepting the religion of their oppressor? Perhaps I could better understand a slave accepting the religion, because that may have been all that he or she may have known at the given time, due to it being passed down from slave owner, to parent, to child. However in an age of the internet, how can one still give power and worship, as well as their energy to an enemy deity and his God, Jesus Christ, when we have more knowledge and information that we have ever had in our history? Perhaps this is a question better asked of a psychologist? Praise the Creator Yahweh the God of the Israelites.
