Are You Living Your NEW Life In Christ? Lets see... Mark 2:18-22, Once when Johns disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, some people came to Jesus and asked, Why dont your disciples fast like Johns disciples and the Pharisees do? Jesus replied, Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not. They cant fast while the groom is with them. But someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.. Besides, who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before.. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins...... Wow! This passage of Scripture is so needed for our generation today!!! We, the compromising generation that we have become, are trying to just patch up our old sinful lifestyles with Jesus. But thats not the way that God planned it! As I read and study Gods Word, I see what Jesus tries to do when we ask him for help. He gives us a heart transplant!! Which means that He takes away our old sinful heart and replaces it with a new heart from God; one that is full of characteristics that want to please Him!!....... But, theres one problem.. If you are one of the multitudes who have tried so hard to fit your patch of Jesus Christ onto your old sinful lifestyle, and dont respond to the work of Christ in your life, then your lifestyle is probably worse off than before.. And why? Because now, you think your eternal home will be heaven, but as you examine your lifestyle today and find Jesus nowhere to be seen or heard throughout your week, your heart will start to throb because you tried to patch the presence of Jesus on your old lifestyle, instead of putting Him in your heart, where He does His best work!!!!! Besides, thinking you have Jesus on your side, and heaven as your eternal home is a tragic feeling, because as you truly reflect on your worldly lifestyle, you will see that you have been fighting on the side of Satan, all along, and without you realizing it!!!!! My friends, theres not a better feeling than to KNOW that your fighting on the side of God, and your lifestyle reflects the work of Jesus!!! Amen to that!!! Today, put Jesus into the new heart that God has prepared just for you! And, start allowing Him to transform you from the inside out!!! And, I hate to say it, but for some of you, I pray that you see that you might need to put Jesus back into the heart that God gave you way back when!!!!!! Mmmm!!!!!
