Are You in the Belly of a Big Fish? As a homeschool family, - TopicsExpress

Are You in the Belly of a Big Fish? As a homeschool family, sometimes you can have some rather interesting experiments that you get to enjoy as a family. Miserable George was one such experiment. Now Miserable George was a goldfish whose fish mate sadly perished. We decided to try to teach Miserable George, the goldfish, to come to the top of the fish bowl when we tapped on the glass. After several weeks of tapping and feeding and tapping and feeding the fish finally learned to come to the top of the bowl. Big deal right? Right, that is until the fish started to do more. Anytime someone would walk by fish bowl he would get all excited and start moving his mouth like he was yelling at whoever it was that was walking by the bowl. This became rather normal and we would just ignore him or comment that he was yelling at us in another language. Then one day the kids were listening to a Christian song titled Big Fish. It was then that George decided to really show off what he could do. Any time the song played, George would begin to swim around like he was dancing in the water and would seemingly move his mouth to the words! I began to listen to the first verse of the song that goes like this: Are you in the big fish? Are you sitting in the belly of a world gone mad? Have you turned your back in His wish? On His will for your life, have you made Him sad? Do you want to get out of the big fish? Listen to God and follow His plan! And you wont be part of the main fish dish Instead He will spit you out on to dry land! Jonah 1:17 And the LORD appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 2:7-10 While I was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, And my prayer came to You, Into Your holy temple. 8 Those who regard vain idols Forsake their faithfulness, 9 But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the LORD. 10 Then the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land. Jonah 3:1-3 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you. 3 So (this time) Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three days walk. Sometimes, I have felt like I was in the belly of a big fish, because, I had decided to do something my way, instead of first seeking the Lords guidance and leading, in His Plan. But I want to tell you, Whoever you are, God has a Plan for your life, just as He did for Jonah. Maybe the Lord has been speaking to you in a still small voice, that He wants you to do something for Him. But like Jonah, you may not like the mission or plan that God has for you! But, Do not worry, what God has called you to do, He will provide all that is necessary for you to do it. Will you take the First Step to follow His plan or will you decide to do something else, because you do not understand His Plan, or you do not see how you can do it? And end up staying in a Cramped Fish Bowl, only mouthing the Words of God, not actually saying them? Just like Jonah, the Ninevehites were the enemies of Israel and Jonah could not understand how or why God wanted them to have His True Word? Since Israel was Gods chosen people! Well if you have already chosen to turn your back on Gods Plan and you feel that there is no way out now! DO NOT WORRY, If that is the case Ive got good news for you. The Bible has this to say about Jonah, in: Jonah 2:1-2 Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the stomach of the fish, 2 and he said, I called out of my distress to the LORD, And He answered me. I cried for help from the depth of Sheol (Hades); You (God) heard my voice. Yes, Folks our Loving God is the God of second, third, fourth and many, many chances. Commit your way to Jesus the Christ TODAY. And see how He will change YOUR LIFE! Setting you free from a Cramped Fish Bowl, MOUTHING WORDS to the Freedom and Victory found in Jesus the Christ, actually PROCLAIMING the TRUE WORD of God to all.... Ephesians 2:4-10 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions (ON OUR WAY TO HADES), made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved (and are kept) through faith (in what Jesus has done--alone); and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of (any) works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. youtube/watch?v=WPtAUh9fedw
