Are people aware that sheepskin pads should not be used under a saddle permanently? Have just seen a photo of someone using 2 sheepskins under their saddle ðģ I see so many people using them to be decorative or for additional comfort for the horse. Sheepskin pads should always be temporary! Such as in the case of a horse filling out or making a transition from one saddle pad to another. A properly fitted saddle should not need a sheepskin or any other kind of padding. Keeping a sheepskin on permanently, especially ones without a channel in the middle, can actually cause the horse a lot of discomfort.
