Are the 10 horns of the beast the 10 largest media companies in the world? Revelation 17 16. And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these will hate the harlot, and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. This verse seems to imply that the horns will hate the whore, not necessarily the beast which, although it has seven heads, is spoken of in the singular narrative. The word these is used specifically in conjunction with the horns and is plural. Revelation 13 1. And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten diadems, (crowns - company logos?) and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. Of course, media companies have no military power, at least not as yet but they DO exert a lot of influence and have enticed countries to go to war in the past. But he will have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: (Looting of the Pyramids) and the Libyans and the Ethiopians will follow in his train. (Napoleon employed Libyan Bedouins and Ethiopian Nubians to support his army) 44. But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, (Reports of a coalition of England and Russia against France while Napoleon was still in Egypt) and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many. 45. He will pitch his royal tents between the seas at the beautiful holy mountain. (Napoleon at Mt. Tabor) Yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him. Napoleon also tried to conquer Russia over a century earlier but was driven back and lost 90% of his army. Many Bible scholars hold to a more practical view of the three plucked horns as being Egypt, Libya and Ethiopia which are clearly identified in Daniel 11:43. Daniel 11 43. But he will gain control over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt; and Libyans and Ethiopians (Sudanese) will submit to him. After some years, they will become allies. The daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to make an alliance, but she will not retain her power, and he and his power will not last. In those days she will be betrayed, together with her royal escort and her father and the one who supported her. The Bible seems to suggest that there will be an alliance formed between a southern entity and a northern one. Could it be referring to some sort of Islamic/Russian confederation bent on the destruction of Israel ..... and the United States of America? If this is so, Daniels little horn might come from a number of small Muslim countries with large a percentage of their populations being Shia believers such as Kuwait, Bahrain or Lebanon.
