Are vitamin K shots delivered to the newborn necessary? Usually not, but if there is a concern, vitamin K can be administered orally and avoid causing pain to the newborn, who already has a lot of new sensory input to process, and also avoid any preservatives that might be in the shot, and the risk of possible infection in an environment known to have serious infectious agents if you are in a hospital. My advice: Take good care of yourself during pregnancy, deliver your child into the world in the most natural way and in the most peaceful environment you can create - make the whole event a holy and sacred one - and be in the frequency of love - ALWAYS!!! I, myself, delivered my own child at home with the assistance of a an excellent team of a mid-wife and an obstetrician, who shot the video of the delivery - and in close proximity to a hospital, just in case anything unusually adverse showed up.
