Are yall sitting down? WELL, SIT ON THE FLOOR; YOU CANT FALL OFF THE FLOOR...... THIS IS THE CURRENT STATE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT IN QUINCY ILLINOIS...... My friend Kevin went to pay a fine for not wearing a seat belt. He has a pin in one hip, so naturally, the metal detector went off, they pulled him aside, and ended up sending him through the metal detector 3 times, even after he had emptied his pockets and told them about the pin...... I BET YOU CAN TELL WHERE THIS IS HEADING.... TO MAKE A LONG ABSURD STORY SHORTER, After some more harassment from several of the official folk standing around, he was very ready to pay the fine and leave. The blond broad that was taking the money gave him more grief about setting metal detector off, and once again, he emptied his pockets, the only article in them being a piece of paper towel that hed been using to blow his nose on, which he tossed in her general direction. IT NEVER TOUCHED HER--NOT EVEN CLOSE TO HER.... What do they do? THEY TOSS HIM IN THE CAGE FOR 5 HOURS. NO PHONE CALL, NO MIRANDA RIGHTS, WOULDNT LET HIM OUT TO GO TO THE BATHROOM AFTER SEVERAL REQUESTS, WHICH WERE TOTALLY IGNORED... The idiot which booked him in gave him a lecture on how he is REQUIRED to respect these people- WE ARE THE AUTHORITIES!!!- and then shoved a piece of paper at him to sign; didnt explain it to him, and needless to say, all he wanted to do at this point was get out of there, and he signed it, not knowing WHAT it was he signed. He just found out that he is being charged with AGGRAVATED ASSAULT for tossing the paper towel and he has a court date coming up~~and they are wanting to FINE HIM $1500.00 FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A PAPER TOWEL THAT NEVER TOUCHED THE STUPID BROAD!!!! I had to ask him Kevin, how much snot did you have in the thing? His reply? Not nearly enough!!! BECAUSE HE WASNT MIRANDIZED, THEY DONT HAVE TO HAVE A LAWYER ASSIGNED TO HIM- AINT THAT JUST CONVIENENT!!!!! He certainly cant afford to hire one. This is beyond ABSURD. This is beyond ASSININE. I need a thesaurus, because I cannot find a word to adequately describe this situation. LOOK OUT, QUINCY! THESE ARE YOUR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS. IT HAS COME TO THIS!!!!
