THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNTIY TO HAVE YOUR SAY: REVALIDATION is the process by which Nurses and Midwifes are required to regularly demonstrate to the NMC that they remain Fit for Practice. The NMC are now consulting on proposed changes to the NMC Model of revalidation. The consultation focuses on how the proposed Model can be implemented in a variety of employment settings and Scope of Practice. This will ensure the model launch in December 2015 is flexible and fit for purpose. This part of the consultation will also be used to gather information to draft a revised Code of Conduct and develop guidance for Revalidation. the Online consultation is live from the 6 January 2014 -31 March 2014 @ 17:00hrs UNISON feels that the new System of revalidation needs to be RISK-BASED & PROPORTIONATE.
