Are you a musician? Of retirement age? Finding it difficult to - TopicsExpress

Are you a musician? Of retirement age? Finding it difficult to make ends meet? Well . . . Im a homeowner, looking for someone to share my house with. Must be a musician, must like cats, must have an income like CPP or CPP disability or company pension, would prefer someone who plays acoustic instrument(s) but will tolerate the electrified variety. :) Rent would be a stipend of, say, $200 per month, plus 1/2 utilities (heat for this house is around $75 per month, electrical is around $75 per month, water is roughly $50 per month, half for the three being roughly $100 per month). So the total would be $300 inclusive. My house is a fixer-upper-work-in-progress, with a bathroom that needs to be redone, carpet that needs replacing, and a livingroom that needs fresh wallpaper, but otherwise has all the amenities. The amenities are: bathroom, kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, big washer & drier set, toaster oven, toaster, blender, food-processor, juicer, meat-slicer, hand-blender, deep freeze, crock pot, big canning/preserving pot, 2 3-gallon stock pots, several different types of coffee maker, tea pots . . . You get: your own bedroom for privacy, the run of the house, which is furnished. If for some reason you want, say, your own fridge, thats entirely up to you. This house has: a big farmhouse kitchen, a livingroom with pie-anna, couch, 2 armchairs, television, and fun stuff like oil lamps and wall sconces. There are two bedrooms, an attic (accessible by ladder for the time being), a bathroom, a laundry/utility room, what used to be the back porch, and now beyond that is a 10 x 16 addition that is essentially a covered veranda. I have a paved driveway that can accommodate up to 3 vehicles, a big front yard with hedge and trees, and a back yard with a crabapple tree, a regular apple tree, hedge all around, and a big vegetable garden. The village where I live has: a post office, a big grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, a bar, a library, a land office, a town hall, a seniors centre, a Legion and its bowling alley, a skating rink, a curling rink, a barber/hair-stylist, a gas station, a fire department, and car wash. The town of Naicam, just 10 km North of here, has a bakery, two big grocery stores, +a gas station, 5 restaurants, a seniors centre, a town hall, a thrift store (which I spend a fair bit of time in), a land office, a fire department and ambulance service, a library with free Internet access, a big hardware store, a hotel and bar, all the usual suspects. There are a variety of places to play out here. If youre into the community band thing, there are umpteen brass and concert bands to play in in Saskatoon, which is a 2-hour drive away, and the oom-pah band in Humboldt, which is an hour away. There is the yearly telethon in Regina. And there are gigs if you get involved in the local music scene.
