Are you interested in having your child travel to New Taipei City this summer as part of our student exchange program? If so, please plan to attend an informational meeting Tuesday night at 7:00 at the Mayerson Center for Education on Burnett Avenue. Preference will be given to 10th and 11th graders. This meeting will happen even if there is no school due to extreme cold on Tuesday. The total cost is $2,500. A scholarship worth $1,000 is available for interested students, and involves an essay and a commitment to a set number of hours of community service in the Cincinnati area. $100 will be deducted for students who already have a passport. This brings the total cost to $1,400, which covers airfare and other travel, lodging, most meals, tours and other group activities in New Taipei City, and more. Students will need to bring some spending money for incidental costs and souvenirs. We hope one or more Gamble students are able to attend this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and the first step is Tuesdays meeting.
